Buffalo Lake Volunteer
Emergency Medical Service

E.M.S. History and Donations

In 1971 Walter Quast donated an old Cadillac Hearse - that was our 1st Ambulance.

The 1st new ambulance was an International van in 1978

The first ambulance group was called "Mainstreet Responders" and its members were Lowell Becker, Edmund Hakes, Stan Gallup and Marvin Michelson.

The first Certified Buffalo Lake EMT's were Janet Scharmer, Brad Dobberstein, Doris Scharmer and Keith Radtke.

The Buffalo Lake Community is very fortunate and blessed that two retired school teachers; Evelyn Lenander and Mae Johnson donated funds for a new ambulance

We've gotten money donated from private citizens, Area Townships, Organizations and Clubs, Thank you everyone.

Money was donated by one local club for "Bus Extrication Training", it was greatly appreciated and we thank you for that.
